AMSAT/ARISS symposium, Oct 5-10
Anybody planning to attend the AMSAT/ARISS symposium in California? http://www.amsat.org/amsat-new/symposium/
Bill McArthur will be delivering the keynote address http://www.amsat.org/amsat-new/
Should be very interesting.

ARRL Web article about ARISS @ AMSAT Symposium
Hi!
The ARRL web site now has an article about the ARISS-related meetings during the AMSAT Symposium a couple of weeks ago:

An FT-817ND instead of an FT-100 for HF on the ISS? Hmmm.....

I'll be there...
I'm planning to be there, but not for all of those days. I will be there for Friday through Sunday of that weekend (6-8 October), and look forward to Bill's speech.

Hello Pat,
Do you take a camera with you to record video?
One with a tripod would be easy ;-)

I have audio from Bill's address at the AMSAT Symposium
Hi!
I have an MP3 with Bill's address from the AMSAT Symposium. It is about 10 Mb in size, I would like to reduce the size a bit more, but I'm no expert in working with these files. If anyone has a server I can upload this to, maybe someone else can crunch it down a little smaller.
I didn't take a camcorder with me, since those items attract extra inspection when travelling by air in the USA. I also left my Arrow Antennas handheld Yagi at home, but I did get on the AO-51 satellite with an IC-T7H HT and long telescoping-whip antenna.

Audio recording,
Hello Pat,
I do not know what you mean with an audio recording
with Bill's address?!?!?!
Do you mean you recorded Bill his speech, in that case
I would be happy that you would share it with me.
I do have audio eddit software and I can compress it.
Trie to send it to wegaman@gmail.com

Glad you liked it
Hi Cor!
I tried e-mailing you the file yesterday, it was up to 13Mb as an attachment, so I don't know if that ever made it to you. It has not come back to me. In any event, I am glad you enjoyed it. I wanted to get everything that you heard - from the introduction through the question-and-answer session at the end. It's not a video, but I think it is a great thing to hear if you were not there at the Symposium.
Again, if you are able to make a smaller file from my MP3, please do that and send me a copy of it. Otherwise, I will definitely keep the 10Mb file and put that with all the stuff I have related to Bill McArthur and my QSOs with him.

Camcorder... maybe
Hi Cor!
It is possible. I have a small DVD camcorder, and I might be able to haul that with me to San Francisco. I haven't thought that far ahead, as to what I will pack for the trip (besides a radio or two, to work satellites from up there). I would like to get audio, at least, from his address if I can't do the video.
