Yaesu FTM-100DR Digi Path

Hello there

I have a Yaesu FTM-100DR, with APRS working quite well terrestrially.

As I understand, to work the ISS, the digi path on the radio needs to be set to ARISS. Unfortunately, the only settings available on this radio is "OFF", "WIDE1-1" and "WIDE1-1, WIDE2-1". According to the owner's manual, there should be options to select PATH 1 to PATH 4, FULL 1 of FULL 2, so that the address can be manually entered. However, this seems to be missing from the APRS menu in the radio.

I know the FTM-400DR/XDR has these options as described above. So I'm a bit puzzled why the FTM-100DR does not.

So, my question is: has anyone successfully work ISS packet using this particular Yaesu radio? If so, how did you set your digi path? I have searched this forum but have not seen anything related to this model. I have also checked with Yaesu tech with no success. Can anyone help? Thanks!

Hi Hendrik !

I know that the answer comes too late, but maybe will be useful also for you and other hams and

I just bought a FTM-100DE and I saw that the APRS DIGIPATH cannot be set to other values than "WIDE1-1" and "WIDE1-1, WIDE2-1". Even that, the transceiver can be used for working with ISS or PSAT, but helped by an additional APRS device. In my case, I used PLX Tracker, to interface APRSdroid software with the Yaesu transceiver. Using APRSdroid, I was able to set DIGIPATH to "ARISS,WIDE1-1" and sent APRS packets via PSAT, with 5 watts and an omni-wipe multi-band antenna on the car's roof.

Yaesu FTM-100DR PLX Tracker

Hell0 yo3fvr,
I also have a FTM-100DR, you tell me how you connected the PLX tracker to the radio ? Did you need special cable ?
